2. The Golden Era (1994-1997)
- "Ame (Rain)" – Their commercial breakthrough. The single includes the elusive "Ame (Cassette Mix)," which features a lo-fi drum loop not present on the Bang! album.
- "Kanzen na Honyaku no Tool" – A six-minute spoken-word jam over fuzzed-out bass. The B-side, "Piece of Cake," is widely considered one of the band’s greatest hidden gems.
- "Punk" – Exactly what it says on the tin. The single version cuts off with a vinyl crackle, a detail lost on streaming versions.
- File Size: A true Complete Single Collection should be between 400MB (MP3 V0) and 1.5GB (FLAC). Anything smaller is likely a fake or a duplicate of the Very Best album.
- The "Secret" Track no. 15: Most collections stop at 14 singles. The authentic .rar contains a 15th hidden track: a cover of The Velvet Underground’s "I’ll Be Your Mirror," recorded live in Sapporo, 1999.
- The Cue Sheet: Real collectors include a .cue file for burning a CD that replicates the "single collection" as a cohesive album.
While this collection contains the rare "MY WAY," there is a separate album titled "RARE TRACKS" (released in 2009) that contains different versions and B-sides, such as: Romeo (London Session) SEA SIDE JET CITY (Virgin Take) リス (Version 2) "Ame (Rain)" – Their commercial breakthrough
1. The Early Grunge Phase (1991-1993)
- "Candy" / "Hajimete no Summer Vacation" – Raw, distorted, and soaked in Asai’s signature drawl. The B-side is a noisy punk masterpiece that sounds like The Stooges on cheap sake.
- "Sakura" – Before the ethereal folk covers, this was a distorted, sludgy anthem. The single version has a different mix than the Red Guitar album cut.
