This report outlines the procedures and resources for downloading and updating firmware for the Canon imageRUNNER 2425

  1. Press the Menu button on the control panel.
  2. Select "System Monitor".
  3. Press the "Information" button (often found at the bottom of the screen).
  4. Select "Device Information".
  5. The screen will display the System Version or Firmware Version.

What to Do After a Successful Update

Once the Canon iR 2425 reboots and shows the "Ready" screen:

⚠️ Important Warning

  • Never download firmware from random file-sharing sites (Mediafire, Google Drive, Torrents). These files are often corrupted, out-of-date, or contain malware that can permanently brick your device.
  • Installing the wrong firmware will void your warranty and may turn your copier into a paperweight.

  1. On the printer’s control panel, press the Counter/Device Info button (often on the top right).
  2. Select Device Configuration or System Information.
  3. Scroll until you see System Software Version or Main Controller Firmware.
  4. Note the format (e.g., Ver 03.02 or v80.12.1).
