Caselabs Sma8 Manual [upd]
I couldn’t find an official Caselabs SMA8 manual available for direct download from the original manufacturer — Caselabs closed permanently in 2018. However, here’s what you can do:
Since CaseLabs originally shipped their cases "flat-packed," assembly is a DIY process. While the original company has gone through various ownership changes, you can still find official documentation and community-driven guides to help you build or modify your SMA8. 1. Official Manual & Assembly Resources caselabs sma8 manual
- Motherboard Installation: The SMA8 supports mini-ITX motherboards up to 170mm x 170mm in size. Ensure your motherboard is compatible before proceeding.
- Power Supply: The SMA8 accepts power supplies up to 150mm in length. Choose a PSU that fits your build's power requirements.
- Storage: The case supports up to two 2.5-inch drives or one 2.5-inch drive and one 3.5-inch drive.
What you don’t get:
Internal Storage (Standard Configuration): I couldn’t find an official Caselabs SMA8 manual
- Fan configuration: Configure the cooling fans for optimal airflow and cooling.
- Storage configuration: Configure the storage drives for optimal performance.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting guide for common issues, including installation errors and cooling problems.
Weaknesses
- No assembly order – It shows parts, but not “do A, then B, then C.” First-time builders often install the midplate before side rails, then have to backtrack.
- Missing advanced configs – The SMA8 supports dual systems, massive rads (up to 560mm), and pedistals. The manual covers only the base single-system setup.
- Poor fastener guidance – Nowhere does it say “hand-tighten only” for acrylic panels. Many users cracked windows by overtightening.
- No digital extras – No QR codes to video guides (Caselabs closed before that was common).
