- 256 – 512 samples: Good for mixing with a few plugins.
- 1024+ samples: High latency, usable for mastering with heavy linear-phase EQs.

Cause: Cubase 5 is a 32-bit application. Many modern interface drivers are 64-bit only or require Thunderbolt 3/4. Solution: You need a "bridge" driver. ASIO4ALL works most of the time.
