Deckel Fp2 Manual May 2026

The Holy Grail of Milling: Finding (And Using) the Deckel FP2 Manual

If you are reading this, you likely fall into one of two categories. Either you are the proud new owner of a green goddess of German engineering, or you have been staring at a pile of levers and dials in your shop for three hours trying to figure out how to engage the power feed.

Controls & settings

  • Spindle speeds: use the belt/pulley or gear selector to set RPM. Match cutter size and material (low RPM for large cutters/hard materials).
  • Feed selection: choose manual handwheel or power feed for X/Y; set feed rate per material/cutter.
  • Quill feed: use the lever for plunge cuts; use depth stop for repeatable depths.
  • Fine feed: engage if available for precision finishing passes.

Lubrication Systems: This is arguably the most vital section. Later "Aktiv" models or specific generations (like the 2.8 gen) feature centralized way-lubing systems located at the back of the base. The manual provides specific lubrication charts detailing oil types and frequency to prevent wear on the precision ways. deckel fp2 manual
