While Lily uses the metaphor of rice cultivation in a virtual landscape to explore diasporic longing and data permanence, Pincher offers a brutalist counterpoint, depicting a biomechanical parasite that harvests human hesitation. Through comparative analysis, this paper argues that both works interrogate how modern existence is harvested—once by nostalgia, once by capital.
