While the question "What platforms does EmuELEC support?" usually refers to game consoles, it is crucial to note the hardware EmuELEC supports as an operating system. Unlike a Windows emulator, EmuELEC is an OS you flash onto a device. emuelec supported platforms

  1. NVIDIA Shield: The NVIDIA Shield, a series of Android-based gaming consoles, can also run EmuELEC.
  2. x86 and x86_64: EmuELEC can also be installed on x86 and x86_64-based systems, making it possible to run on older computers or laptops.
  1. Any Intel/AMD PC or Laptop: EmuELEC is ARM-only. Use Batocera or LaunchBox.
  2. Raspberry Pi: Use RetroPie.
  3. NVIDIA Shield TV: Runs Android. Use the RetroArch Android app.
  4. Apple TV / M1 Mac: Not supported.
  5. Xiaomi Mi Box 4 (MDZ-21-AA): Uses a MediaTek chip (MT8695). No Linux GPU driver exists.
  6. Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd gen): MediaTek MT8695 + PowerVR GPU. Impossible to support.
  7. Cheap "Allwinner H3/H6" boxes: (e.g., Orange Pi PC). The NG branch is trying, but it crashes constantly.
