4. Using Multiple Memory Cards
You can have as many .mcr files as you want. Swap them by going to Config > Memory Cards in ePSXe and selecting a different file for Slot 1. This is perfect for organizing saves by genre, game type, or sharing saves online. epsxe000.mcr
The Naming Convention
epsxe– The emulator’s name.000– Refers to Memory Card Slot 1. Slot 2 would beepsxe001.mcr..mcr– Standard raw memory card image format.
Fixing ePSXe000.mcr File Issues
- Try opening in a different memory card tool (some tolerate imperfect headers).
- Restore from emulator auto-backups if available (ePSXe sometimes creates backups like epsxe000.mcr.bak).
- Go to Run → Memory Card.
- Select the card (Port 1 or 2).
- You can delete, copy, or move individual save blocks.
