Let’s be honest: The Commonwealth has a loot problem. After you’ve scrapped your thousandth pipe pistol, the vanilla arsenal of Fallout 4 starts to feel... anemic. Enter Modern Firearms (v2.6.9). This isn’t just a texture pack or a simple damage tweak. This is a total ballistic overhaul that turns your wasteland into a tactical playground.

Do not use Vortex auto-download for this version. The Nexus page currently points to version 3.x.
Visit the "Old Files" section on the Fallout 4 Nexus page for Modern Firearms. Look for the file dated around late 2018 / early 2019 labeled "Modern Firearms 2.6.9 Full."
Manual Download: Grab the main file and the "Modern Firearms 2.6.9 - Vanilla Ammo Patch" (if you don't want to manage 20 new ammo types).
Load Order: Use a mod manager (Mod Organizer 2 is recommended). Place the mod low in your load order—specifically, below environmental mods but above lighting overhauls.
Required: You will need AWKCR (Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource) version 3.0 or earlier. The new AWKCR breaks some 2.6.9 scripts.

Installation & Version Check

File name: Modern Firearms 2.6.9 (full installer package or separate esm + ba2).
Platforms: PC (Nexus Mods), Xbox One (Bethesda.net archive).
Load order: Place MF main ESM below other weapon mods but above leveled list injectors.
Update note: Do not upgrade mid-save from 2.6.9 to 2.6.10 or 3.x without a clean save, as attachments and records changed significantly.
