The Situation

Security Questions: In the login panel, click "Restore Password" and answer the security questions you set up during the initial installation. how do i reset my provision dvr password

1. On the DVR login screen, enter any wrong password 3 times.
2. A "Forgot Password?" or "Unlock" button will appear. Click it.
3. The screen will display a "System Unlock Code" (a 6–8 digit number).
4. Take that code to the official Provision password reset tool (online or via their support line).
5. Enter the unlock code → you will receive a temporary master password.
6. Type that master password into the DVR to log in immediately.
7. Go to Main Menu → System → User and set a new permanent password.

• Have your DVR model number (on the bottom sticker) and serial number ready.
• If calling, ask for the password reset department.
• Be prepared to prove ownership (photo of DVR + receipt).
