Run a nozzle check and print a test page to confirm which colors/nozzles are clogged.
Use the printer’s software utility (on PC: Control Panel → Devices and Printers → right-click L210 → Printing preferences or Maintenance tab) and run “Head Cleaning” once; then print a nozzle check. Repeat up to 2–3 times if needed.
If still poor, run “Deep Cleaning” (available in the same utility) and test again. Wait 10–15 minutes between deep clean cycles.
If software cleaning fails, power off the printer and manually clean the print head and contacts:
Part 5: Preventing Future Clogs (For L210)
Print once every 7 days – even just a single nozzle check page.
Never leave empty: If any ink tank runs dry, air enters the head and clogs within 48 hours.
Humidity: Keep printer above 40% humidity (dry air evaporates ink in nozzles).
Power: Always turn off via the Power button. This parks the head over the cap. Never unplug while on.
What you’ll need:
Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
Open the printer cover. The ink cartridges usually sit on the far right side of the carriage. If they do not move to the center, gently slide the carriage to the middle manually.
Locate the print head. It is the silver or metal block underneath where the ink cartridges sit.
Soak a small area of your lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol.
Gently wipe the bottom of the print head. You are trying to dissolve dried ink on the surface. Do not scrub hard; let the alcohol do the work.
If the clog is severe, you can place the damp cloth on the print head surface and let it sit for 10–15 minutes to loosen the blockage.
Wipe away any residue and slide the carriage back to its "home" position (usually the right side).
