This paper introduces the Index of Mardaani Work (IMW) — a multidimensional framework derived from the cultural-linguistic concept of Mardaani, meaning fearless, assertive, and principled action. Drawing from case studies in law enforcement (inspired by the Mardaani film franchise), social entrepreneurship, and whistleblowing, the IMW operationalizes courage, integrity, and impact resistance. The paper proposes a composite index with five sub-indices: (1) Confrontation of Power Asymmetry, (2) Ethical Risk Endurance, (3) Systemic Disruption Potential, (4) Protection of the Vulnerable, and (5) Non-Deference to Corrupt Norms. Methodologically, the paper offers qualitative and quantitative indicators for each sub-index, discusses validation challenges, and presents a scoring rubric.
