Running the Simulation:

  1. Load the HEX file (from Arduino IDE compilation) into the Proteus Arduino model.
  2. Click Play.
  3. Right-click the MPU6050 model in the schematic -> Edit Properties -> In the UPD library, a new tab "Sensor Data" appears.
  4. Adjust sliders for Roll, Pitch, and Yaw or manually set Accel_X, Accel_Y, Accel_Z values.
  5. Observe the virtual terminal or LCD updating in real-time. Congratulations – you have a working motion sensor simulation!
  • The MPU6050 is the black chip itself. It runs on 3.3V logic.
  • The GY-521 is the blue breakout board you buy on Amazon/AliExpress. It includes a voltage regulator and a logic level converter so you can plug it into a 5V Arduino.

Simulating advanced sensors like the GY-521 MPU6050 in Proteus ISIS allows engineers and hobbyists to test motion-sensing algorithms before building physical prototypes. The MPU6050 is a widely used 6-axis Integrated Circuit (IC) that combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer, providing highly accurate 3D orientation and movement data.
