Multibeast 3.10.1 - Snow Leopard -
MultiBeast 3.10.1 is a legacy post-installation utility specifically designed for Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6)
- Retro Computing: Enthusiasts build Snow Leopard Hackintoshes to run old PowerPC games, Pro Tools HD 8, or Final Cut Studio 7.
- Server Use: Snow Leopard Server is lightweight and runs great on older Xeon-based homelabs.
- Offline Installer: Unlike modern macOS tools, MultiBeast 3.10.1 doesn’t require an internet connection.
Step 5: Reboot After a successful installation, reboot without your iBoot CD or USB. Snow Leopard should now boot directly from the hard drive with full audio, network, and proper graphics acceleration. Multibeast 3.10.1 - Snow Leopard
Graphics
- For NVIDIA (GT 210/GT 430/GT 240 etc.):
GraphicsEnabler=Yesin org.chameleon.Boot.plist – usually no separate kext. - For ATI/AMD (HD 5000 series limited): select appropriate ATI injection.
- Avoid NVIDIA injection for GTX 4xx/5xx – Snow Leopard lacks native drivers.

Troubleshooting
- Kernel panic at boot: boot with -v; look for missing kexts or incompatible kernel. Remove recently added kexts via single-user mode (/Extra/Extensions or /System/Library/Extensions).
- No audio: Confirm codec with IORegistryExplorer, try different AppleHDA patches or VoodooHDA.
- No Ethernet: Ensure correct kext matches vendor/device; try unloading conflicting kexts.
- Graphics not accelerated: Try alternate boot flags (GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No), install specific web drivers for older NVIDIA cards if available.
- Sleep/wake issues: Install sleep fixes and proper DSDT; try null-power-management or CPU kernel patch only if needed.
- USB problems: Try different USB kexts (EHCI/OHCI) and enable/disable USB 2.0 support as appropriate.
When the initial grey Apple logo appeared, he held his breath. The spinning gear of death? No. The desktop loaded. A blue sky over a purple field. The welcome video played. It worked. But it was a ghost. No internet. No sound. The resolution was stuck in a blurry, stretched nightmare. Step 5: Reboot After a successful installation, reboot
No Audio after Reboot
Cause: Wrong ALC patch or missing HDAEnabler.
Fix: Run MultiBeast again, choose VoodooHDA 0.2.7.2 (but note VoodooHDA may cause occasional kernel panics with some apps).
Why Version 3.10.1 for Snow Leopard Was Special
Snow Leopard was unique. It was the last version of OS X to support PowerPC applications (via Rosetta) and was famous for being a "no new features" release—just under-the-hood optimization. This stability made it a favorite among Hackintoshers.
