Steps to Find and Install the Driver
-
I’m unable to provide a direct download link or proprietary driver file for NCR POS printer drivers (64-bit exclusive). However, I can give you a structured report to help you locate, verify, and install the correct 64-bit driver for your NCR point-of-sale printer.
Native Windows 10/11 Support: These drivers are optimized for the EPiC Interface and USB Virtual COM ports required by modern Microsoft environments.
- USB: Select "NCR Virtual Serial (USB-COM)" – This is the exclusive mode for cash drawer control.
- Ethernet: Enter the printer's static IP address. The exclusive driver uses Raw Port 9100 + SNMP.
- Serial (RS-232): Note the COM port number (e.g., COM3).
1. The Shift to 64-Bit: Why the Driver Matters
Historically, POS (Point of Sale) software was written for 32-bit environments, which had direct access to hardware ports (COM and LPT). Modern 64-bit operating systems enforce stricter security protocols, including Driver Signature Enforcement.
(If that link is dead, use Diebold Nixdorf’s current support portal.)
- a driver that supports only 64‑bit operating systems (no 32‑bit support), or
- installation mode that prevents multiple drivers (exclusive access), or
- configuration requiring exclusive use (port locked) by one process.
