PDI uses a Sleeping system that is incredibly aggressive. If a chunk hits the floor and stops, it goes to sleep instantly, freeing CPU for the debris that is still moving. Pulldownit 6

Keywords integrated: pulldownit maya, PDI Maya plugin, Maya rigid body dynamics, live fracturing, VFX destruction. Select the ground plane

Stability: PDI is remarkably stable when dealing with high poly counts and thousands of shards.

Step 5: Ground Collision

  1. Select the ground plane.
  2. Click "PDI Make Passive Rigid Body" (Infinite mass, doesn't move).
  3. Check "Collision Thickness" to 0.5 so fast-moving pieces don't fall through the floor.

Progressive Collapse: Instead of one big explosion, layer your simulation. Activate gravity on a floor-by-floor basis. Use a moving force object (like a wrecking ball) and let PDI’s stress solver naturally tear the building apart as the ball swings through.

  1. Menu: Pulldownit adds a new menu to Maya's menu bar, labeled "Pulldownit". From here, you can access various tools and sub-tools.
  2. Toolbar: You can also add a Pulldownit toolbar to your Maya interface by right-clicking on an empty area of the toolbar and selecting "Pulldownit".

Vertex Color Shatter: Advanced fracturing based on vertex color maps for precise control over where a model breaks.
