Typical performance and weld quality
- Best on: Thin to medium steel (18–10 gauge up to about 1/4" with multiple passes or higher settings on 230V models).
- Weld characteristics: Smooth bead with correct settings; flux core produces more spatter but good penetration; gas-shielded MIG gives cleaner beads and less cleanup.
- Duty cycle: Modest—fine for intermittent shop tasks but not heavy continuous industrial work.
