Installing WinOLS 4.7 (a professional binary editing software for ECU remapping) requires specific system preparation and following a sequence of registration and configuration steps. System Requirements

Part 4: First Launch and Licensing Activation

After a successful WinOLS 47 install, launch the program. You will be greeted with the license manager.

• Installation fails: Check if your computer meets the minimum system requirements. Ensure that the installation package is not corrupted and try re-downloading it.
• License activation issues: Verify that you have entered the correct license key or that your dongle is properly connected.
• ECU connection issues: Check the ECU connection settings and ensure that the ECU is properly connected to your computer.

1. Connect your Kess, Ktag, or PCM Flash interface.
2. Go to Options > Hardware Configuration.
3. Select your device from the list.
4. Click Test Connection. You should see “Device ready.”
5. If not, go back to Step 3 of installation and re-install the drivers manually from the WinOLS driver folder.

4. Install Checksum Plugins

Many modern ECUs (Bosch EDC17, MED17, Simos) require checksum correction. After WinOLS 47 install, manually install the latest CRC_Plugin.pkg from your supplier. Copy it to Plugins\CRC folder.

• Restart Windows, disable driver signature enforcement (Shift + Restart → Troubleshoot → Advanced → Startup Settings → Disable driver signature enforcement).
• Install the dongle driver manually from C:\Program Files\WinOLS\Drivers\Dongle.

Step 7 – Post-Install Configuration

Navigate to the installation folder and locate OLS_Config.exe. Run it as Administrator.
