Check your file extension first.
If your file ends in .iso, it is likely a standard ISO which xemu can load directly without conversion. You can simply point xemu to the file via Settings > System > Flash Path (or disc path).
Part 8: Beyond XISO – Compressed Images (CCI)
Once you have a working XISO, you can convert it to CCI (Compressed Xbox ISO) to save up to 30-50% disk space. Xemu can load CCI files natively, and they load faster than XISOs. xemu convert iso to xiso
Troubleshooting — common problems
Game fails to boot: check default.xbe, ensure the boot sector/header is present.
Corrupt or missing files: re-extract and verify.
Graphic or audio glitches: try alternate alignment/padding or different xiso flags.
xiso command not found: ensure binary in PATH or use full path.
Build errors: install missing dev packages; consult xiso repo README.
